Spotlight on: The guest lounge – relax and enjoy the view!

May 27, 2012 Posted in: Blog

One of the most popular rooms here at The Glenora is our tastefully decorated guest lounge.  Located on the ground level of the building, near the breakfast room and reception area it offers the space to relax after a long day spent sightseeing, shopping or visiting the Pandas at the Zoo. It is a tastefully decorated room with comfy sofas, an armchair and a TV. We also have a Nintendo Wii , which can be hired and used in the guest lounge!

However, especially during the summer month, one of the most attractive features of this room is its big window overlooking our back garden. It’s not only a fantastic source of daylight; you can also spot birds popping into one of the feeding stations we have erected in the garden. From the guest lounge you have a good view on to our very own apple tree! We planted it only last year, so are not able to offer any home-grown apples just yet, but we are hopeful to be able to do so at some point in the future.

Lately, guests have had the chance to observe a red squirrel that seems to have made a new home in our garden. We named the squirrel Perry and have started looking at him as a new member of our team! Perry spends his busy days in the branches of the trees we’ve grown in the back garden… foraging for food and thoroughly enjoying being at the centre of our guests’ attention, whenever they look on at him through the windows while spending some time in the lounge.
